I do not know if I should laugh or be insulted by Featherly. Its clearly not the language of a mature journalist. In fact it reminds me of some to the behavior I have seen on chat rooms and message boards, usually those populated by teenagers.
Someone on another board pointed to this exact same article and made an interesting comment, citing that this is a classical strawman argument, citing that your opponent, real or imaginary is a Nazi. It the old "Hitler" clause which states that in any debate the first person to invoke the name of Hitler will automatically lose.
And again, we all are in favor of freedom of the press. I will defend anyone's right to say what they want, even if they make an idiot of themself. But the one thing I will not do is stay silent when someone is being an idiot and not do anything.
I think I have this figured out. The Cheyenne Herald, as I know already is the work of one man. It is not, however a reputable news source. Sure it gets quoted by lawmakers, supposed experts on "diploma mills," journalists and others. But can anyone actually say that a publication which engages in baiting and trolling, as well as behavior which can get you banned on any internet forum is really of any value?
As for that accusation of "Coward?" All I can say is that Featherly would never debate anyone or even so much as post other people's comments in his own paper. Would he ever come to a board like this and debate any one of us?
