Air Marshal Douglas pops up on the radar screen - Geoff Vankirk - 08-22-2009

It looks like Air Marshal Duggle Douglas has returned to Degreedisgusted.

Air Marshal Duggle @ Degreedisgusted

Which oldtimer will be the next to return? I wouldn't bet my money on it being Uncle Janko or Mark Israel.

Quote:being Uncle Janko

The finally departed might need a medium to help, but a seance might do.

Either would be more lucid than Klempner or Gollum these days.

Is Doogle posting on DHS's time?

Even lamer than Doogle is Gollum.  RespectableGent scores some solid head and body shots and the best Gollum can do is whine like Barbara Boxer because he wants to be called "Doctor" Asshole and not just Asshole.

Thumbs up to RG, who is totally kicking the crap out of Gollum in this thread at DD.

Not just on DL issues, which isn’t that hard since Gollin confines his “arguments” to personal attacks and never actually discusses the issues.  This probably is because he doesn’t really know anything about the issues and can’t formulate intelligent responses.

But when Gollin tries to convince us he might actually know something about physics, RG kicks the shit out of him on that as well.

Well played, RG.  Keep up the good work (until you are banned).

You do have to admire the flexibility of physicists. They keep building their house of cards. If your theory has a hole in it you just invent a new particle or force to explain the discrepency without considering the basic science may have problems.

Well, Einstein was long convinced the universe was static, until Hubble set him straight at his telescope. What Einstein defined as "his biggest blunder", a constant that made a static universe possible (was it the 'gamma'?) is now brought back...TO JUSTIFY AN EVER EXPANDING UNIVERSE.
Contemporary physicist blame old timers as Newton zealots and ridicule them for not seeing the many flaws in newtonian physics...yet they are equally zealous in their Einstein fixation.

As for the degenerates at degreediscussion...
I think Gollin is just throwing names and exotic catch-phrases to his opponent.
Take gamma ray bursts, for example.
Some argue they come from the far end of space.
Last theory I heard involves the clashing of clouds of expansion gas against one another.
And if I am not mistaken, some other egghead thinks they come from supermassive stars.
String theory?
Most eggheads will tell you the name makes little sense, because there are so many 'string theories' differing in so many aspects...
