Janko Full of Hate - Ben Johnson - 05-10-2008 Janko continues doing the devil's work. From Degreediscussion: (QUOTE)uncle janko Senior Member Joined: 18 Jan 2006 Posts: 3788 Tom, just what "we" do you share with millist and Nations University fake college namesake Muhammad Schmidt? I can't conceive of any whatever. Nations is being used by Schmidt as a vehicle of legitimisation (sic). Sincerity is crap: let that be our watchword. Consider your real degrees, real ministry, etc; Schmidt's series of phony archbishopric, phony Islam, phony Serbian college, phony Polish degrees, internet hate sites, unremitting attacks on Bill for being real, etc., etc., has nothing in common with anything of yours except original sin. What you represent is antithetical to Schmidt. Sloppy talk of 'sincerity" is neither Christian nor worthy of an educated man of integrity. It is a plague of American bonhomie we are all better off without, because it makes beneficiaries of bad people like Muhammad Wolfgang G. A. Schmidt. Blessings on your ministry and learning. _________________ Doing good, doing well, raising hope and raising hell. Janko Shave. (UNQUOTE) I honestly don't understand PhD failure Janko's motivation. Schmidt is a graduate of a great German university, has published endless books and papers, including translations from Chinese to German. He is a true and respected academic. Janko is an academic failure. His church is buried in a butthole of a tiny Michigan town because they fear the damage he could do with a bigger congregation. He's one scary SOB. RE: Janko Full of Hate - Jambo - 02-17-2009 Ben Johnson Wrote:Janko continues doing the devil's work. From Degreediscussion: Hi, I am the said Muhammad Schmidt. From the posts that "Uncle Janko" made re my (unimportant) person, I could only conclude that as a person he was just busy with himself and his own problems. I am wondering whether he has been free enough to serve the Lord and his parish -I would really doubt that. To me, he seemed quite unbalanced, and it is was very evident that in his posts not re my person, he tried to "show off" with his knowledge of foreign languages which he probably never mastered and made use of something like a Google Translator instead. He accused me of running a degree mill which I would never do - my school, although not yet state-accredited (this process is currently under way in Kenya), mostly accomodates non-paying students who, due to their poverty, receive everything for free. I have no financial interests, and how can someone then accuse me of running a degree mill with no evidence given? The mental state of "Uncle Janko" must have been a bit "weird", to say the least. He also claimed and spread the false rumour that I had paid NationsUniv. because they named one of their "virtual colleges" after me. The truth is that I wrote some courses and donated these courses to them free of charge, and they wanted to "honor" that in response to my work I did for them. I never asked or expected the latter, and I even did not know about it first. Said courses are on Biblical Hebrew and Greek, Homiletics, and a Comparative Religion graduate course on Islam and Christianity. These courses are still being taught by NU while they are moving toward state-recognised accreditation; so, they can´t be that bad. IFTS, the school I have founded, operates within an interdenominational and highly cross-cultural Christian setting. IFTS is neither entirely "conservative" in its Theology nor entirely "liberal"; we are somewhere in the middle of either extreme. Nor are we religious fundamentalists in any direction, and staff, faculty and leadership at IFTS primarily focus on academic research and the finding of what may be true by viewing things from different angles. No ideology, and sound academic teaching and research instead - this is what I feel we should be committed to. Reason and Faith combined - this is truly Anglican, and this is what we try to follow at IFTS. Degree mills do deserve to be exposed in forums such as this one, and it is absolutely necessary to spread the word about them - but then those spreading the word should be able to supply sufficient evidence, and as far as I can see there has never been any such evidence with respect to IFTS. The campaign "Uncle Janko" and his aides had once started was personally painful but it did not really harm the work we are trying to do - we continue to have as many student enrolment requests as before, and the good friends, brothers and sisters I have the pleasure to be working with all know me personally and what that what I am trying to do. Said accusations by the "Uncle" and his aides are absolutely unfounded, and to me it seems that the real reason why they started this campaign is the fact that IFTS offers all its services for free to those in need (like NationsUniversity), and that they therefore were trying to "badmouthe" IFTS in the hope to advance the cause of their respective "outfits" where students pay a lot of money for all the educational services they receive. The root to the entire problem of degree mills, unaccredited and acccredited schools and the hot debates about it/them is the fact that mostly tertiary education is not free and that those who may be talented and gifted thus are excluded from the real blessings and benefits of tertiary education just for the filthy sake of money alone. I think this is neither fair nor right, and I strongly believe that all education must be free of charge. This is why IFTS exists, there is no other reason - I myself would be personally probably much better off with less work and more income used for myself if I would cease to do this work. But as far as I can see - I cannot, at least now and inthe next time to come. P.S. I do not want to blow the IFTS trumpet here, I just tried indicate the IFTS position towards all these unfounded accusations cited in the article above. Have a great day! RE: Janko Full of Hate - Dennis Ruhl - 02-17-2009 Dr Schmidt; It's nice of you to drop by. As you must have read, he died in a car accident and I'm sure has spent the last week doing some heavenly explaining for unheavenly actions. Janko actually just finished his ThD at the University of Zululand by distance education. His dissertation which appeared to borrow heavily from his failed PhD dissertation in Classics at Loyola in Chicago was a commentary on one of Cicero's works relating it to works by Confucius. You might actually enjoy reading it. You might be one of the few people who could understand it. I don't know what motivated Janko. He seemed to prefer abuse to debate and perhaps had problems expressing himself civily. Perhaps he had problems with some of your works, which I'm sure he would have read, and instead of discussing the matter civily went on a tirade. He was fluent in many languages including German. Chinese, I'm not sure about. His name was John Weaver-Hudson. His dissertation was at the University of Zululand in 2008 or 2009. The title is "HOLINESS AND HUMANISM: A Comparative-Religions Commentary on Book 2 of Cicero's Laws, with Special Reference to Confucianism and Chinese Thought." If you find it, give it a read and let us know. RE: Janko Full of Hate - ham - 02-17-2009 Quote:He was fluent in many languages including German. Chinese, I'm not sure about. I seriously suspect that uncle Janko was much bigger stuff in his own mind online than in his neighborhood. Another case of second fry cook becoming a neurosurgeon online. Fluent? It takes a lifetime and I know about it... uncle Janko spent his time online hobnobbing with 'funny' people, millists, deviants, gay teen pornographers and others...'covering up' for one another's 'little secrets'...this until they said something to displease him, at which point he'd blast the others' skeletons scattered all around: he was the golden example of people one should NEVER befriend online. RE: Janko Full of Hate - Jambo - 02-17-2009 Dennis Ruhl Wrote:Dr Schmidt; From an academic point of view, I would say, the topic in itself is a failure - what has Cicero got to do with Confucianism, and it is certainly a topic for a PhD in Classics but not in Theology. Second, "Chinese Thought" is more than Confucianism, and you would not understand Chinese Thought nor Confucianism if you failed to look at how it works and worked in Chinese society. Methodologically and else, this topic is as far-fetched as a topic like "The Influence of the Golf Stream on Chicken Breading in the Middle of Nowhere on Mars Planet". And I smell a rat if I read that he failed with this dissertation somewhere else before it was submitted to the Zululand uni. I do not know that uni but one thing is certain - neither at unaccredited IFTS nor at any decent uni in Germany or elsewhere he would have got away with it. It would be undecent academic practice to submit a dissertation to another place when you failed with the same somewhere before. It does not shed a good light on Zululand uni if they were really involved in such a dubious procedure. When I submitted my 480 pp. dissertation in 1986 to Berlin Free University, I had to sign a paper that I did not submit this thesis somewhere else before. That much on decent academic practice and procedure, and it is really remarkable that this person must have been a real hypocrite if he accused someone else of undecent academic practices while himself being involved in such a thing personally. I am open to discussing this and related topics with anyone who wishes to do so at at a bit more "neutral" level; for the time being let me say this: I will not comment on the car crash for good reasons, let it suffice to say that just for purely academic reasons alone reading that "dissertation" would be a complete waste of time to me. I am also sure that he never read any of my books; via my publisher in Berlin I am quite well aware who has bought any of my works before, and that far there has never been any private order from the US (so far mostly only schools and some public libraries). Have a great day, and take care! RE: Janko Full of Hate - Jambo - 02-17-2009 ham Wrote:Quote:He was fluent in many languages including German. Chinese, I'm not sure about. I think it is reasonable to assume that the Uncle was a pretender as far as his skills in foreign languages are concerned. Once, I caught him in a post at degreeboard.com where he made some reference to the Afrikaans language with its grammatical feature of double negation in a sentence. He was wondering about the double negation in a sentence like (1) Ek nie ga nie (I-not-go-not) and this shows that he did NOT "know" Afrikaans at all as a double negation like this is a basic feature of the Afrikaans language. I pointed this out to him in my reply to that post of him. Afrikaans is the Dutch-based language spoken widely in South Africa by the ethnic group of (white) Boers - those who have been responsible for the terrible Apartheid regime over decades. Although it is Dutch-based and very similar to German, Dutch and a couple of other languages, it has developed some grammatical traits of its own during the course of time , like double negation - probably under some linguistic influence from French where this is very common, and there had been many French Protestant refugees mingling with the Boers some 300 years ago. I have lived and worked in that part of Africa for quite some time, and I can express myself more or less fairly well in it. The Uncle also used some derogatory German words mingled with the English text in several replies to some of my posts. The words he used are not common in contemporary German but may have been used some 150 years or so ago. I am wondering what literary sources he drew on when posting his "bookish" German. I am sure he did not know Chinese either. What he certainly knew was Latin. In another Baptist-oriented board/forum, he pointed out to a certain Bill Grover that the works of Calvin should be read in its Latin original, and there is not the slightest evidence that the Uncle was a pretender in that respect. But it really seems that he was a pretending know-it-all in other respects, e.g. Modern Languages. Someone like that is a poor person indeed, suffering from a high degree of jealousy and a some inferiority complex. People measuring other people only in terms of their respective academic successes or failures, IMHO, would not be the kind of neighbours I really wanted to have; they are too unbalanced and neurotic and not really easy-going. There seem to be some other kind of people like that around at that said degree forum. I am shocked to read the quotes from the more obscene posts the Uncle must have made. If he really ever made them, then I am asking myself how this is going to match with his profile as a pastor/minister in a theologically conservative Lutheran setting. Sex and the sexual stimulus in Man is a wonderful gift from God inherent to all living species, and it should be treated as such - as long as you do not rape or exploit other people sexually and deal with sexuality responsibly, there is nothing wrong with that. But the contents and the nature of the respective posts quoted in this thread really do point into another direction - they remind me of a person only following his own will and not caring about the rest of the world. In Europe and Germany, there are people like that known to have a satanistic background, and while some may rightly assume them to be dangerous cults and sects, very often it comes down to a simple point: They just exist to satisfy their own lust of flesh with a semi-religious and occult cover to ideologically justify their obscene and often unlawful actions. I myself know of cases where some of them have more or less successfully attempted to infiltrate smaller church groups in Germany and elsewhere, and if all that is true concerning the Uncle, then I would assume he was one of them. This Uncle must have been a real nightmare to many...... Quote:From an academic point of view, I would say, the topic in itself is a failure I say a stoned single mother of three on welfare who get all her philosophy from THE MATRIX or UNDERWORLD might as well get that deep... So one day his French was tested in a chat and he was exposed for the fraud he was, while one of his online buddies claimed instead that he spoke French as a native speaker... Typical of people with modest knowledge, mostly gotten from "idioms' books" etc. I still have a few of these books from the times I was learning and I must say I encountered NONE (yes none) of those expressions in real life... I think we can pretty much describe Uncle Janko as someone who took twelve years to get a doctorate from Zululand and was able to 'accomplish' that only re-using works from aborted degrees... Hardly a genius and hardly anyone who could or should finger point others... But then, look at the kind of people he associated himself with...the most successful is -I'm afraid- Thomas Chip White who filmed 70+ DVDs full of gay teen porn... Really shocking. Was there no pastoral oversight to stop him? What a shame! I would take it as a good example of what should NOT happen in Christian ministry. If I had been the bishop of such a person, I would have ordered him to refrain from any such activities and/or associations with immediate effect or to leave. Very simple; the integrity of Christian Ministry would be at risk if something like this would be allowed to happen! |
