MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - DR ANATIDAE - 02-20-2008 More drivel from G-G: http://www.sj-r.com/News/stories/25487.asp I have yet to see any of these ‘experts’ show any interest in the real threats to education: http://www.instantdegrees.com http://www.degrees-and-diplomas.com http://www.universityofdublin.org http://www.degreexpress.eu/?degree+adwords2 http://www.speedydegrees.com/sitemap.asp http://www.degrees-for-sale.com http://www.customdegrees.com http://www.affordabledegrees.com http://www.degreexpress.eu RE: MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - Don Dresden - 02-20-2008 DR ANATIDAE Wrote:http://www.instantdegrees.com Unless one of those listed is run by a woman and does something to piss off Gollum (say, get his little website shut down), it's a safe bet he won't bother. Just out of curiosity I took a look at the first one on the list, instantdegrees, and found some interesting stuff. They claim their alleged degrees are "100% legal." If you follow the links around you eventually get to the reason why they make that claim. Quote:How is this legal?http://www.instantdegrees.com/how-it-works.html Quote:What is an Apostille?http://www.apostille.com/questions_and_answers.html Quote:Only countries that have signed or ratified "Article 12" of Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents will automatically recognise the legitimacy of an Official Apostille Seal. The Apostille is guaranteed to be accepted by law. This means: Any Apostilled document is automatically regarded as legal for use without any further requirements in any other ratified or signatory country.http://www.apostille.com/locations_and_jurisdictions.html#U If this is what they are relying on for the claim of "100% legal" they seem to be on shaky ground. An Apostiille is not much different from a common notary seal. The notary is not attesting to the correctness of the content of the document, just that the signatures are real. You can type up a document with any crazy thing in it, like you have more money than Bill Gates, sign it in front of a notary, then claim you have a notarized document that states you have more money than Bill Gates. It's true that you have the document, it's not true that you have the money. Same with this Apostille thing. It verifies that it is a true document, rather than something you cooked up on your laser printer, but does not verify the merit of the content. A true document from a fake school is still worthless. I thought this was kind of funny in their FAQs: Quote:Critics. Why you should ignore them Also interesting is this from the TOS agreement: Quote:This Confidentiality Contract is deemed to be interpreted and enforceable in the first instance according to the Laws and Statutes of Gibraltar,...http://www.instantdegrees.com/tos.html Assuming the people who wrote it wanted the home field advantage in the event of litigation, this seems like the place to start looking for them (although I haven't done any further research). But this also might explain why Gollum and his friends don't pursue these kinds of culprits. He knew the SRU crew was domestic, where the US courts would have jurisdiction. He either hasn't figured out where these guys really are located, or knows they are located outside US jurisdiction. I also thought it was interesting that their TOS document states: Quote:The submission of a false declaration of relevant life experience, work experience or formal study will be deemed an act of bad faith. Then it goes on to say: Quote:Any act of bad faith by the Client in not obeying and respecting the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Disclaimer and Confidentiality Contract, as outlined in this website will be deemed to be an act of bad faith. Any Client deemed guilty of an act of bad faith, agrees to pay restitution to InstantDegrees.com, on demand, the sum of $100,000 U.S. (One Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) for an act of bad faith. So if Gollum signed off on a similar doc for Belford, claiming he had the experience to be a thoracic surgeon when in fact he didn't, wouldn't he owe them $100,000? That seems to be the main problem with all these "sting" operations, in that it's difficult to fix blame when somebody with fake credentials buys a fake degree based on those credentials. Submitting a fake claim for tax refund usually lands the person submitting it in jail, not the IRS for paying off on it. The other problem is that most health or safety occupations are highly regulated and licensed. Simply having a fake degree in your possession does not entitle someone to legally practice. People without proper licenses who practice are already violating the law. And as has been mentioned here before, for every one nitwit with a fake degree who practices medicine illegally and kills someone, there are hundreds of nitwits with real degrees practicing medicine legally who kill thousands every day. We don't see Gollum complaining about that either. RE: MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - Albert Hidel - 02-21-2008 Looks like somebody touched a nerve with Gollum. He's in another incoherent flutter about "foaming beaks" and milled degrees over at DD. As far as I know, he's the only one with any milled degrees. According to the article he's got two from Belford. Seems like he also has admitted submitting fraudulent resumes to obtain them, which I don't think anyone here has ever done either. But then Gollum is an elitist who thinks he is above the law or common sense, and that rules are just for the little people, not geniuses like him. So that all seems pretty consistent with the deviant sociopath mentality of the Bear wannabes. DesElms gets caught consorting with hookers, so he says he's just writing a book, Chip gets caught selling gay boy porn to pedophiles, so he says he's just providing adult entertainment, Gollum gets caught stalking and he says he's just performing "public service." His employer didn't believe him, why should anyone else? His employer didn't believe him, why should anyone else? As a "public service" I took a look through the DL Truth art archives. I'm sure somebody thought they had performed a public service by obliterating the Military Forum, where these classics first appeared: Looks like George is in the mood to perform a little of what he likes to call "public service." Watch it, he'll scratch your eyes out! But first he's going to scratch his fat ass: You can't service the public if you don't service yourself. Pocket pool, anyone? You vill obey your superiors: Now here's one genius who actually knows his stuff: RE: MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - Albert Hidel - 02-22-2008 Dickie Billericay Wrote:Looks like George is in the mood to perform a little of what he likes to call "public service." That is the reason I am hoping the SRU case goes to trial. When the government's "confidential informant" takes the stand, the government's case will immediately go down the dumper. JUDGE: The witness will take his hands out of his pants, quit scratching his ass and answer the question. CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT: Oh my, this is just so surreal, duck beaks, dog closet, goat bag, trailer park hounds... JURY FOREMAN: Your honor, can we please just vote to acquit now so we don't have to watch this scratch and sniff show any longer? We're all becoming nauseous. CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT: ...papists, chocolate vaginas, phallic spring rolls, mutant pork, week-old gefilte fish, sons-of-bitches! JURY FOREMAN: And while were at it, is there anything we can convict this witness of? His employer didn't believe him, why should anyone else? Here is the university's position on Gollum's hobby: Quote:Ms. Kaler says the university does not view Mr. Gollin's research into diploma mills as meeting the institution's public-service requirement since the work is not related to physics, his area of expertise. "He has a lot to offer the community and the world outside of his discipline," she says. "But for the university support he receives, it's for his work in his discipline."http://chronicle.com/free/2003/10/2003101301t.htm It's very clear that Kaler and the university think the alleged public service work must be in the faculty member's area of expertise. Wherever did they get such an idea??? Well, here is what the official UIUC A Faculty Guide for Relating Public Service to the Promotion and Tenure Review Process says about it: Quote:Public service typically entails the application of faculty members’ areas of expertise in addressing real-world problems, issues, or concerns. That Kaler dame had it damn near verbatim So just what is Gollum's area of expertise? Doesn't he have lots of expertise in distance learning? Hasn't he taken lots of distance courses as a student? Doesn't he teach distance courses every semester? Isn't he involved in the administration of distance learning at UIUC? Ummm, no..... Looks like he read Bear's book, found it more interesting than his boring life, then just up and decided he was an expert too. He started telling people so, and naive people believed him. That sounds an awful lot like those fake medical doctors he is always complaining about, the ones who just up and decide they can cure what ails you with some outlandish treatment. Maybe if he scratches his crotch on video long enough he can cure testicular cancer, but I kinda doubt it. RE: MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - Don Dresden - 02-22-2008 BTW, for those with strong stomachs, the video with Gollum's fruity intro to Ezell's boring (and inaccurate) presentation is still available HERE. (RealPlayer required.) Better hurry, because Gollum likes to re-write history. Also, this (fanciful?) newsgroup exchange between "George_Gollum" and "Ezell" still available at Google groups: I Hate DL Truth! I Hate It, I Hate It, I Hate It. I Hate DL Truth! Quote: Quote:Ezell RE: MORE DRIVEL FROM AN "EXPERT" - Armando Ramos - 03-01-2008 George Gollin Lies about Public Service Quote:The corrupt George Gollin spin machine continues unabated. Contrary to his publicly stated purpose of thwarting "degree mills," his true impetus is not so noble, and is entirely personal. That's an old post (2005), but still surprisingly current. Perverts are still perverts, and their motives for closing down Christian schools are still the same. They want to eliminate oppostion to their sick lifestyle. ("Lifestyle" is really an oxymoron when it comes to these deviants. They have little "style" and whatever "life" they have is miserable and, thanks to AIDS, mercifully abbreviated.)
