A Better Unaccredited School-By John Bear - jamesc1 - 10-01-2013

"A non-resident Doctorate, earned by getting credit for life experience, from one of the BETTER unaccredited universities, such as COLUMBIA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY, may be of minimal value in getting a teaching job at Harvard, but it can do wonders for self-image, respect of others, and in many cases, advancement in business or industry."

John Bear-The Alternative Guide to College Degrees & Non-Traditional Higher Education

Now why should anyone be blamed for being a little miffed at JB for hyping them and then saying he didn't, for saying they were good and useful, and then saying they are a joke? Why? because people had to pay a lot of money to put those diplomas on the wll just to have the former salesman laugh at them. If people think he's a lying con artist, well, I fully undrstand.

There are only two possibilities.
1-He lied.
2-He was too damned lazy to really research the subject.

Probably a good dose of each.

Bear owned CPU and no doubt was raking in a "consulting fee" even after he sold off (or sold out) his share (and his soul).

You are so right Herbert...this crappy school he owned (Columbia Pacific) was shut down by court order...one person was even getting his doctorate in Spanish... problem was nobody spoke Spanish on the panel!...they still rubber-stamped this phony-diploma...courtesy of Bear's minion's...they wanted the bucks...they didn't care how ridiculous this PhD dissertation was...they laughed all the way to the bank! Bear was a consultant at Pacific Western University, many years ago, before they were accredited. He had a falling out with the owner and academic director, and they shit-canned him! That was when bear went on his crusade to smear PWU at every opportunity. This guy is a pariah...Bear is a snake...slithering through cyber-space, looking for a state approved school to devour...

John likes to say he only had a small share of the stock, but, just how do we know what he really had. I do know this he helped design the method used by CPU to grant degrees. Just as he did at Fairfax and Greenwich, all of which had a lot of life experience components to them. Now here is my thought on all of this. If life experience is so very bad, why did he use it as a major part of the degree process?

Why indeed??? Because he knew that many of the adults wanted degrees in 6-12 months. By using life experience he could provide those degrees in that time frame thus bringing in people who were not interested in spending years getting degrees. He would then tout these schools in his guide till he was done with the them, then he dumped on the schools and the methods he himself designed. Nice bit of work. Cool
