Quote:UCLA: Credits From National Dream University 'Not Automatically Transferrable'

The Huffington Post reported last week that UCLA will provide transfer credit for the six courses (18 credit hours) that will be offered at a reduced rate to illegal aliens anywhere in the country by the National Dream University, a partnership between UCLA’s Center for Labor Research and Education and the National Labor College. However, a spokesman for UCLA stated today that these credits “are not automatically transferrable to UCLA.”

In an email to Breitbart News, Ricardo Vasquez, a senior public informations representative in UCLA’s Media Relations Department, stated:

Quote:In response to your question, the 18 credits of coursework that you mentioned are offered through the National Labor College. These are not UCLA courses, and they are not automatically transferrable to UCLA. It is up to individual colleges and universities, including UCLA, to determine what credit (if any) a student would receive for each course he/she submits. The National Labor College is an accredited institution. As such, UCLA will judge their courses using the same criteria it applies to courses from other accredited colleges and universities from across the country.

In other words, the Huffington Post report that UCLA will definitively provide transfer credit for all six courses (18 hours) is incorrect. The courses are not “automatically transferable” to UCLA, which will “judge [National Dream University] courses using the same criteria it applies to courses from other accredited colleges and universities from across the country.”

UCLA officials have promised to answer this question tomorrow:

Do the UCLA criteria for accepting courses from other accredited colleges allow the granting of transfer credit from colleges that apply political ideology as a condition for acceptance to their institutions?

As Breitbart News reported yesterday, National Dream University has set commitment to a left wing pro-union political ideology as a condition for acceptance to its program, as its website specifies (emphasis added):

Quote:To be considered for admission to National Dream University you must:

(1) have graduated from a U.S. high school;

(2) a minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA;

(3) demonstrate commitment to immigrant/labor rights and social justice; (emphasis added)

UCLA officials have also promised to explain tomorrow whether Kent D. Wong, Director of UCLA's Center for Labor Research and Education, acted entirely on his own initiative in establishing the National Dream University partnership with the National Labor College, or if he secured the authorization and approval of his superiors at UCLA before announcing the collaborative project.

There is considerable evidence that the United States was lured into the war and that Roosevelt provoked the Japanese. It has been proven that Churchill knew about the Pearl Harbor attack but chose not to alert the Americans because only by such an attack could the United States be drawn into the war.

I'm of course in no position to know, really, and many hypotheses have been argued.
I just think that Japan and the USA sunk into the same mire in the Sino-Japanese war (Americans supporting the Chinese) as others would in the Spanish civil war.
It helps to ponder how Japanese imperialism had been carefully pruned when it was time to occupy German settlements and colonies in China and the Pacific during WWI...

Ian Smith was right!...Even Senator Goldwater agreed with the political efforts of Ian. Prime Minister Smith was a statesman of great skill and courage...Robert Gabriel Mugabe has trashed Rhodesia/Zimbabwe and his legacy will be one of tyranny and bloodshed. Dictatorial Junta's like Mugabe usually die horribly, when they refuse to abdicate...check out his buddy to the north, Gaddafi.

Senator Goldwater agreed with the policies of Atilla the Hun. History passed Ian Smith and his cronies but the country really didn't need an asshole like Mugabe.

Quote:UCLA Ends Plans for 'DREAM University'
September 14, 2012

The University of California at Los Angeles announced Thursday that it was ordering an end to plans by a labor education center at the university to help create a certificate program for undocumented students. A statement from the university said the following: "UCLA has determined that the agreement between the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education and the National Labor College (NLC), which resulted in the creation of the National Dream University certificate program, was negotiated without the necessary approvals from UCLA's academic and administrative leadership. As a result, the agreement has been declared void and UCLA has directed the Labor Center to suspend all work on National Dream University. While these actions do not preclude any future relationships between the center and National Labor College, any agreements would require a comprehensive academic and financial plan that has approval from appropriate parties. It is important to remember that the envisioned certificate program would have been offered through the National Labor College and not UCLA; news reports suggesting that those enrolled in the program would be UCLA students are completely inaccurate."
