Honestly, I do NOT think people can successfully defend BOTH the "freedom in academia" item AND degree mills. You know, it all started with making excuses for one State using incendiary bombs on civilians for the "good" reason, and ended up making excuses for burglars, rapists and murderers.
By mixing DETC schools, "real" unaccredited schools and degree-by-cheque schools AND by making the same excuses for all, none is well served.
It's like mixing WACO with a gang of thugs preparing crack in a basement and making excuses based on civil rights...
Take my favorite mill, the Sorbon franchise...I think I documented enough how they are making a fool of all of us...remember how the "law" authorizing them was just a law mandating the conversion into the euro currency?

That certainly seems to be the cartel's strategy--lump them all together so that the casual observer can only see "RA" and "other." But I really doubt that people who are serious about their education and take a moment to investigate have any difficulty making the distinction. You don't need a degree in automotive engineering to tell the difference between a Cadillac and a Chebby. The buyers of no-work milled degrees invariably know exactly what they are (or aren't) getting; they figure (usually correctly) that others don't know or won't bother to check.

If SRU had two decades to get their house in order would they have been another CCU or Nova? We'll never know because the cartel had them crushed like a bug for trying.
