Little Arminius Wrote:ham Wrote:Hell, you can't tell little hulksters that Hulk Hogan wrestled the Iron Sheik because he had a financial interest in doing so...remember they have to believe he did so out of patriotic duty...
Say it ain't so ...
Well, this is not a fantasy.
Back in their haydays, Hacksaw Jim Duggand and Iron Sheik had this all-American hogwash feud between the Iranian thug and the American hero.
One night they got arrested together for drug possession, driving drunk or something, as they were real-life friends.
Believe it or not, one of them (or both?) had to change gimmick and wrestling circuit for a while because the matter had leaked to the press...
Little Hulksters had grown wiser to the trick and were very angry.
Hulk Hogan claimed in an interview that his "prayers&vitamins" gimmick went bust after he testified in court about his and others' steroid use in wrestling. He said his vitamin business went bust virtually overnight...once again, little hulksters were angry Terry Boulder hadn't grown so huge by saying his prayers and taking his vitamins only...
NZ is currently well into its summer months and in late December/early January we would normally average 30 degrees Celsius most days, -but following on from a very wet and very cold winter & spring we've just had snow on our local mountain range, which I believe has not been known for many years! We say - bring on Global warming.

This winter and the last 2 we've had -40C which we hadn't had for many years. A couple weeks ago Edmonton International Airport had -46C while the old record was -36C. That's 18 degrees Fahrenheit cooler - pretty significant. Not only was was the climate data selectively chosen to show warming, anecdotally there isn't even warming. Europe is in the deep freeze too.

Our eldest delinquent and his family are in Scotland at the moment - visiting his wife's family. Like most countries in the Northern Hemisphere, Scotland is experiencing what looks like being its worst winter on record. They are due to fly out of Glasgow today, but will be lucky to get off the ground. They flew there via New York - to visit other relatives - and had to camp down in LA for three extra nights because NY is also experiencing what also looks likely to be its worst ever winter!
And where is Al Gore and the UN whilst this is happening?
I think the radical environmentalists have already tipped their hand in the direction they are hoping to steer the debate by now referring to "climate change" instead of "global warming." I can easily see their propagandists, without missing a beat, claim that we are in the beginning of a cycle that could result in a new Ice Age and doom to the planet if man doesn't reduce his carbon footprint. When asked about global warming, they could claim that in 30 years or so we'll reenter a cycle that will be characterized by abnormal global warming exacerbated by human industrialization that will spell doom for the planet if left unchanged.
IMHO almost all the "research", both pro and con, is so flawed as to being next to useless. Maybe they should just start over with the goal of conducting an objective study using properly collected scientific research?
Or we could make drastic changes that cost trillions of dollars and fundamentally changes the way we live based upon, though pursuasively packaged, what amounts to mere guesses, conjecture and opinion.

Quote:We are turning up the heat in pursuit of prosecutions against scientists involved in the recent Climategate scandal. Our dedicated group of volunteers working with Climategate.com are behind a plan to entice co-workers of discredited Penn State University climatologist Michael Mann to turn whistleblowers in return for millions of dollars in federal reward money. Mann is famous for his emails obtained from the East Anglia University server hacking, and for creating the widely disputed ‘hockey stick’ graph that is depicted in Al Gore’s film, “An Inconvenient Truth.”
An “inconvenient truth” for Mann is that an ally of ours, former CIA agent Kent Clizbe, has this weekend emailed the proxy professor’s co-workers with details of the tempting offer that could turn 2010 into quite a prosperous New Year. We hope someone at this premiere world research institution will come forward and substantiate the facts from evidence already uncovered from the government emails leaked on November 19, 2009. The emails, among other things, show correspondence between Michael Mann and British Professor Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research, which discuss methods to “hide the decline” in global temperatures.
If any of the dozens of co-workers in the US or the UK are prepared to give evidence, even if it doesn’t lead to any convictions, they could benefit from a share of tens of millions of dollars in recovered public funds.
Penn State could owe a lot of money for doing fake research for political reasons.
It will be a whole year until the Republicans can gain the House or Senate and hold public hearings that the Democrats won't allow. There would be some good TV that the networks could not ignore. And while they're at it call NASA in to explain why they are complicit in the fraud.
