Quote:His stories about Vietnam are absurd. Every telling is different than the last and none are backed up by his military records.

He has claimed to be Indian, but, he isn't. His parents were white, and attempts to prove he has Indian blood have always failed. He was made an honorary Indian by one tribe, that is the extent of his Indian heritage.

He was found guilty of academic fraud, misconduct, plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification.

The man is not real, he is all smoke and mirrors. No cause needs this type of non-person as its supporter.

this man would have been just grreat over the internet.

Well, wasn't mr. John Bear "keynote speaker" at a symposium over education? The brain behind London Institute of Applied Research & Millard Fillmore? Ah, I forgot those were juvenile pranks he pulled in jest...

Quote:Don't ever quote one of his books or essays without double checking the facts elsewhere.

None of the universities I have attended would ever accept works not based on a overwhelming % of peer-reviewed or eminent scholars' work; the occasional bunk source or hearsay or such like was admitted as novelty only, but could not constitute the backbone of any B.A paper, let alone postgraduate.
When I search the internet for sources, i restrict search to *.edu or *.ac.uk etc domains.
John is good at what he does and these groups obviously don't do their homework. A good search on the internet would expose enough of Bear's past to keep him off any podium, but, they don't look past the hype, and he provides plenty of that. But, the hype and crap is how he sold all those DL guides to us over all those years. He fooled us too. So, maybe we can understand how he keeps finding new suckers. People just need to be aware that just because someone wants to sell you something, including himself, doesn't mean he is who he pretends to be. He may be wearing a very attractive mask.

As our old parents and grandparents told us over and over, and of course, we didn't listen. "Don't judge a book by its cover."
